Complete Bali Travel Guide

We took a flight from Chennai to Denpasar with a layover of 3 hours in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You can also take the flight to Bali from your respective cities.

Note:
● On arrival visa for International passengers.
● At the immigration center, you will be asked to fill an ECD (Electronic Customs Declaration) Form to enter into the country.
● Better to exchange the currency to IDR in your own country because there are some fraudulent exchange centers in Bali. So, Be aware…!
● Visa validity for 30 days but it is extendable.

How to reach Ubud…?

Ubud is about a one and half hour ride from Ngurah Rai International airport. You can hire a taxi/cab or a private car.

Kuta is a touristy place with a lot of beaches, varied accommodation/resorts, temples, spas and restaurants. One would find it as a regular tourist destination whereas the real Bali vibe is felt in Ubud and Nusa Penida Island.

How to reach Kuta.?

It is just a 15-minute drive from the International Airport in Bali. There are various mode of transportations here like taxi/cab, private car and Gojek.

Nusa Penida is one of the most beautiful and enchanting island located in the Southeastern part of Bali. The crystal-clear beaches and limestone cliffs are definitely a visual treat to the eye.

How to reach Nusa Penida…?

From Bali the only way to reach Nusa Penida is by a speedboat or ferry ride. The journey is about 45 minutes or so. If you are travelling from Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta or any part of Bali, you can drive to Sanur port and catch a ferry. Its better to take an early ride to Nusa Penida because the area will be crowded and it is difficult to get the tickets from the counters.

Bali Food Guide

The National dish in Indonesia is Nasi Goreng which means rice served with eggs, tofu, vegetables, seafood and meat. The other dishes are Mei Goreng, Nasi Campur, Sate lilit and Soto Ayam. Apart from that, there are many cafes in and around Bali which serves Italian dishes. There are very few Indian restaurants in Bali.

What I dislike about Bali?

• Traffic
• Insects
• Near death experience in a ferry ride from Sanur to Nusa Penida. Kind a scary one while going through the rough sea. Take a proper boat with a good driver.
• Check the weather before boarding the ferry. The sea tides are totally unpredictable.
