The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum Review

I used the serum as directed, applying a few drops to my face and neck after face wash. I didn’t mix it with any other products to prevent irritation. I started to get acne which was big, red and painful, it was nothing like the acne which I use to get occasionally.

At first, I thought it was just a purging phase, but as the days went by, my skin only got worse. I developed red, inflamed bumps and whiteheads, which was frustrating and unexpected. I had high hopes for this product, but it clearly didn’t agree with my skin. Unfortunately, my experience with ordinary niacinamide serum was disappointing. Despite its promising ingredients and affordable price, this serum didn’t suit my skin.

The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum Review

After some research I found out that this serum has 10% niacinamide which might be a little too much for a few skin type,  many skin experts say the best way to introduce niacinamide serum is to start with less concentrated form and then move up gradually.

I’m disappointed that this product didn’t work for me, especially since I’ve heard great things about niacinamide. If your skin is new to niacinamide serum I highly recommend you to start with 3-5 % niacinamide first and then move on to The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum. One of my friend wanted to try this serum and I passed it on to her and it worked like a charm on her. Everyone’s skin is different, so what works for others might not work for you.

Rating: 2/5 stars (only because it might work for others, but it didn’t work for me)
