Chicken chettinad is a famous chicken side dish from south India. It is had along with rice, roti and dosa. Here is the recipe.
Ingredients :
Oil- 3 tbsp
Bay leaf – 1
Saunf – 1/4 tsp
Chicken – 1/2kg
Onion – 2
Tomato- 1 small
Green chilli – 1
Curry leaves- few
Turmeric – Pinch
Salt – To taste
Coconut – 1/4 cup
Coriander leves – 1 tbsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Corriander powder – 1tsp
Jeera powder – 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
Method :
1. Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf and saunf to it.
2. Add onion to it and saute until it turns translucent. Then add curry leaves and green chilli.
3. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until raw smell leaves. Add tomato and saute until it turns mushy.
4. Add all the powders mentioned in the ingredients list except pepper powder, mix it well and add chicken.
5 .Add salt mix it well, close the pan and cook until the chicken is soft and tender.
6. Grind the coconut and coriander in to fine paste and add it to the chicken. Add pepper powder.
7. Cook it until the required consistency is reached.
