6 Clothing That You Must Get Rid Off

out of fashion clothing

The word of fashion keeps evolving constantly; trends come and go. A clothing item that may have been super popular for decades might disappear from magazines, and things that were fashionable decades ago may come back.
Items like bell-bottom pants from the 70s and crop tops from the 90s have come back to style lately, which is why some people like to hold on to their clothes even if they are not trendy anymore.  Now that is understandable, but some clothing items are gone for good, they aren’t coming back…at least we hope that they don’t. Therefore, you should get rid of these items to free up some room in your wardrobe. Here is a list of some clothing items that are not coming back into style, these are some Clothing That You Must Get Rid Off.

6 Clothing That You Must Get Rid Off

1. Cold shoulder tops:

You know what I’m talking about. Remember those tops which had a hole cut around the shoulder. These tops were somewhat popular and trendy in the late 90s and early 2000s, but even then, they weren’t that big. Now, you can be confident they aren’t coming back to the runway anytime soon.

These tops are quite impractical, and there are so many other options out there that can make for a much better and more stylish look. Therefore, if you have a cold shoulder top in your wardrobe, you should get rid of them. You can also donate them so that someone else could make use of them. It would be best if you replaced these cold shoulder tops with some stylish custom-made tops and t-shirts. Check out www.GetBold.com, which is a fantastic online custom clothing store.

2. Shutter shades:

Shutter shades are more of a recent trend. They were custom designed by a designer named Alain Mikli for the super-popular singer Kanye West. You can say that Kanye West is somewhat of a fashion icon, and when he words these shades on the music video of his song “stronger”, they became super trendy and popular.

Most of us have these shades lying in our accessory boxes, but we most likely only wore them once or twice to take some pictures. These shades are incredibly impractical, as it is nearly impossible to see out of them. They might look good in photos, but because of their impracticality, they went out of style as quickly as they came, and they are surely not coming back in the future. Therefore, you can safely throw them out of your wardrobe, and get some timeless aviators instead of them. If you want to look like a celebrity, tips HERE.

3. Lace-up jeans:

If you were a teenager growing up in the early 2000s, you surely know about lace-up jeans. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, remember those jeans that had to be laced-up from the calf to the thigh. You could tie it tight, or you could leave it a little loose if you wanted to show some skin.

These jeans were trendy at the time, and almost every girl had a pair. They also remained in style for a decent while, but they have died out ever since, and haven’t shown any signs of popping back up. Designers have moved up to a lot more revealing and vogue designs when it comes to jeans, and lace-up jeans can’t make a comeback. Therefore, they are a clothing element that you need to get rid of so that you can have space for more trendy and modern jeans in your wardrobe.

4. Furry boots:

furr boots
You need to understand that not everything that you see someone wearing in a TV show or movie is going to be trendy. The same can be said for furry boots. These style abominations were popularized by Nicole Polizzi, who is better known to play Snooki from the popular TV show Jersey Shore. These boots became popular for a while after that, but the trend was short-lived. Thankfully these ugly looking shoes went away sooner than expected, and hopefully, they won’t come back in style in the future.

Apart from looking completely ridiculous, these shoes were also quite impractical, they made your feet and legs unnecessarily hot, and they did not complement your legs in any way, in-fact they made your legs look shorter and chubbier. Therefore, if you have these boots in your wardrobe, throw them away, and replace them with some elegant and stylish thigh-high boots that are perfect to wear with shorts in the winter.

5. Tiny bolero jackets from the 2000s:

Bolero jackets were quite fashionable for a long time, and they are still worn to some extent these days with formal dresses, but the trend is mostly dead. The early 2000s introduced us to super tine bolero jackets. The trend was short-lived, and rightly so because these jackets were utterly pointless. They barely kept your arms warm, and they didn’t do much more. Therefore, if you have some of these jackets in your wardrobe, you should consider getting rid of them, in favour of some popular puffer jackets that can be worn with several outfits.

6. Stirrup pants:

The late 90s and the early 2000s were a different time for fashion. This period introduced us to several styles, some of which are still trendy today. At the same time, some are too hideous to even think about; stirrup pants fall into the latter category. These are less like pants and more like leggings that were worn under dresses, and they have been out of style for a long while. I am sure that you won’t be seeing stirrup pants in any fashion runway ever again. This style is dead for good, and if you have any stirrup pants in your wardrobe, it is time to get rid of them.

Lastly, styles and trends keep changing and evolving with time, some styles like leather and denim jackets are good enough to stand the test of time and stay relevant even after many decades, however, some trends die quite early. You must keep up with the changing trends and update your wardrobe accordingly. Apart from adding new clothing elements to your wardrobe, you need to get rid of the ones that are not trendy anymore. Therefore, here is a list of some clothing items that need to be thrown out of your wardrobe immediately.
